My last stop in England was Brighton. I was there for New Years 2004. Brighton was a really beautiful place and it was so nice to see the ocean!

Probably the funnest day I had in Derby was when England won the Rugby World Cup. The game started at 10am and the pub was FULL. We even got Daz’s dad to come down to the pub with us. We started drinking early and the day just got better and better. After the win Daz wanted to crash the local Aussie pub to do some rubbing in. I am mostly just a huge fan of the chants. Goooo Johnny Johnny, Johnny Johnny Johnny Johnny Wilkinson. Ha this one is not to original, but still fun. My ultimate favourite though has to be….Get your shit stars, get your shit stars, get your shit stars off our flag!

Back in Derby. We woke up on Christmas morning and went straight to the local pub. It was awesome! One of my favourite parts about local pubs in England is that they have fireplaces in them. I could sit all day/night by the fireplace and drink beer. After the pub we went back to Darren’s house, opened presents, and then played football in the backyard until his mom called us in for delicious turkey dinner. After dinner, movie’s, more wine and a lot of passing out.

My next stop was to see my friend Lucy. She lived in Balsall Common, which is near Birmingham. We had so much fun shopping and pubbing. Pre-drinks at Lucy’s country house was pretty hilarious too.

After leaving London, I went to Derby to visit my friend Daz. Everyone asked why I ended up staying in Derby?? But good friends = good times, so I stayed in Derby for a couple months. This was one of the pubs that we went to frequently, but apparently it is all boarded up….too bad.

While visiting Joey, we went for a walk through the funky Camden Town. There were some awesome shops here, and some really great people watching too.
Once I got to London, and Colin went home, I went to visit my friend Joey. He lived right near Primrose Park in London, and I spent many days laying in this park.

After our time in Exeter, we headed up to Derby for a few days. After that Colin and I went to Bristol, and met Colin’s friend, Poppy. We had so much fun exploring the city and drinking all night. After a few nights there, Colin and I headed to London.

We went to this pub a couple times while we were in Exeter, it was converted from an old train station. At night the back wall reflected all the people and made it look as though the pub went on for miles

Exeter was amazing! It is where we had a big reunion of all my best friends from Aussie. Daz, Tim, Colin, Sara, Gip, Jason, Lucy, Robbie, and me, it was such a fun weekend. Exeter is Robbie’s hometown, and we definitely had fun crashing his local pub!

After spending a month with my family in Holland and a bit of time with them in England, they were off back to Canada. I wasn’t ready to go home yet, so I ended up staying in England and visiting friends for a few more months.
